John Wilson has designed more than 100 sets for Chicago stages over the past decade. A native Texan, John was fairly certain he knew what Jim and Laurel’s house looked like during his first conversations with Definition and The New Colony in Chicago.

At the end of the evening, he turned around his pad. In just three hours, he had sketched the first rough draft of what will eventually become this Byhalia, Mississippi home at The Den Theatre on January 8th.

A complete detailed model was shared with the cast and crew in Chicago on November 29th before the first rehearsal.

On December 28th, John and technical director Eli Grove will begin construction of this set at The Den Theatre.

A replica of director Tyrone Phillips’ finger will not be included in the final design…
