CLOSINGS ACROSS THE COUNTRY
In the past week, we set the good ol’ U.S.A. on fire! We hosted the first ever world premiere conversation, connecting six creative teams across the country in a first-of-its-kind digital conversation, and celebrated the closing nights of two fantastic productions of “Byhalia, Mississippi.” Check out photos of the casts and recaps of the journeys of the Toronto and Charleston productions below. Our hearts are bursting for these incredible companies. Congrats!
TORONTO PRODUCTION CLOSING
Cue6 Theatre Company‘s extended production of “Byhalia, Mississippi” closed last night after a fantastic run in Toronto! A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing this show to life, and extending the show’s reach into international territory. If you missed the show, you can experience the full journey of the play by reading director Jill Harper’s recaps: from the very first read to a very special first audience. Congrats again to the entire cast, crew, and creative team behind this magnificent production!
CHARLESTON PRODUCTION CLOSING
Village Rep Co‘s production of our world premiere play took their final bow last Saturday on January 16. Congrats! An incredibly talented cast and crew brought this story to life in a city in the deep South. Reflect back on the production with Artistic Producing Director Keely Enright‘s post introducing the talented Charleston cast. A huge congrats and “nice work ya’ll” to our good friends in the South!
WORLD PREMIERE CONVERSATION RECAP
On Monday, January 18, 2016, we also hosted and “closed” the first ever World Premier Premiere Conversation! Hosted by Definition Theatre Company‘s Tyrone Phillips at The Den Theatre in Chicago, the conversation featured playwright Evan Linder, the Chicago cast of Byhalia, Mississippi and discussions with the creative teams in all six other participating cities. If you missed the live event, check out the recording below! We were so thrilled with everyone who participated, and are excited to continue the conversation on social media throughout the coming week’s performances.
